World Tour 2019
I spent a total of about 150 days in 2019 traveling all over the US and spent some time abroad. The idea of taking the leap into the Airstream Dream for me started sometime last year around October right after we sold our startup software company. Once the company sold and we determined that we would continue to work remotely, I started traveling around the US to some cooler climates to actually begin my search for some land that I wanted to invest in to become a “snowbird.”
While on my trips I started thinking about all of the other places I had not yet explored in NC, Georgia, or even up the East Coast and started thinking about the idea of getting an Airstream and traveling in 2020 to various places to really take some time and explore before making a decision of where to set my roots. I figured it would work out also having the Airstream, especially if deciding to build small on some land, so the Airstream would be an ideal place to stay during that time.
The End of the World, 2020
I returned home from my trips the end of 2019 and decided to put the Airstream Dream on hold until later in 2020 or beyond. It just seemed like a tall order for me to do alone at the time.
Then came COVID-19….
Fast forward to end of May after a couple of months of isolation and quarantining, adopting two rescue pups, holding onto cash because I’m not sure where to invest at this time, no end insight on booking air travel anytime soon to get out and explore, the Airstream Dream started to resurface for me. Interest rates to finance anything is next to nothing during the pandemic and I have plenty of room on my property to park the rig, just seems like the time to move forward. The Airstream to me at this moment in time, seems to be the best investment for my sanity, and provides me the ability to still travel on my own terms.
Blogging for Beginners
I decided to start this website to document my journey into the unknown, I literally have no clue where to even start, so sounds like fun right?
I’m sure it will be quite a trip, with a lot of snafoos and some good entertainment as I stumble through the process as a newbie. Maybe some of this info will help a fellow human who is thinking about taking the leap into an adventure like this.
On to the next task, beginning this journey…
The first step to getting anywhere is deciding you no longer will stay where you are…
